Towards centralised sports and wellbeing data lake

Sports and wellness measurements has been one of the key research areas in CEMIS for several years. Now the role of data and data analytics is growing further in this domain. CEMIS members, CSC, University of Jyväskylä and KAMK, are running several projects focusing on sports and wellness data. One of the latest projects “Kainuu Sports & Wellness Data Analytics Program, Phase 1” started in September 2021. The goal of the project is to define and design a centralized sports and wellness data pool that supports different data sources and types. Data pool will be implemented and piloted in 2022 and 2023.

Kainuu Sports & Wellness Data Analytics Program is part of the the Kajaani Innovation ecosystem agreement with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment Finland, and is funded by the City of Kajaani, Municipal of Sotkamo, Regional Council of Kainuu and CSC.
